BASALT

Basalt extrusive igneous rock formed from the rapid cooling of lava rich in magnesium and iron exposed at or very near the surface of a terrestrial planet or a moon. More than 90% of all volcanic rock on Earth is basalt. Although basalt has the durability of a granite, they tend to have the consistent coloration, markings.

GRANITE

The definition of "granite" varies. Granite's are coarse-grained, quartz and feldspar-bearing igneous rock that is made up of crystals. The word "granite" is used for any feldspar-bearing rock with interlocking crystals that are large enough to be seen with the unaided eye.

LIMESTONE

Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed primarily of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in the form of the mineral calcite. It most commonly forms in clear, warm, shallow marine waters. It is usually an organic sedimentary rock that forms from the accumulation of shell, coral, algal, and fecal debris.

SANDSTONE

Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of sand-size grains of mineral, rock, or organic material. It also contains a cementing material that binds the sand grains together and may contain a matrix of silt- or clay-size particles that occupy the spaces between the sand grains.
